What types of massage do we offer?
Hot Stone
With origins in Native American culture, warm smooth stones, lubricated with massage oils, are used to gently massage the body enhancing the level of relaxation and providing relief to tense and aching muscles. All the cares and stresses of the day will melt away.
Swedish
Relaxes, loosens, and soothes tight muscles, increases circulation, and improves overall skin and muscle tone.
Cranio-Sacral
Cranio-Sacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on manipulation of a physiological body system called the cranio-sacral system. This system is comprised of the soft tissue and bones of the cranium (or head), the spine and the pelvis. We also target the membranes and cerebrospinal fluids that surround and cushion the brain and spinal cord from injury during a therapy session.
Prenatal
Prenatal Massage therapy, both before and after the birth of your child, can help relieve the strains of pregnancy in a very comfortable way. Prenatal massage shares many of the goals of regular massage to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation and mobility, and just make you feel good. Having qualified knowledge of pregnancy and the anatomy of a pregnant woman is imperative for the effectiveness and safety of a prenatal massage. Just as prenatal massage has its own special considerations, postpartum massage is designed to help restore the body to its pre-pregnancy condition and to address the stress of carrying and caring for a newborn. It can speed recovery by bringing relief to the body and helping the mother to relax.
Neuromuscular Therapy
NMT is a thorough program of recovery from acute and chronic pain syndromes utilizing specific massage therapy, flexibility stretching, and home care to eliminate the causes of most pain patterns. This specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief will help to bring about balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. NMT enhances the function of joints, muscles, and biomechanics (movement) and it releases endorphins, the body's own natural pain killers. It can be a part of a comprehensive program, complementing all other health care modalities.
