What to Expect
BEFORE
We recommend that you refrain from drinking alcohol for 24 hours before your treatment. We also recommend not taking common over-the-counter medications that thin your blood at least 3-5 days before your treatment, as this increases your risk for bruising. These medications include fish oil, NSAIDS (advil, aleve, ibuprofen, motrin, aspirin), or vitamin E supplements. Do NOT stop taking any prescription medications or medications that your doctor recommends without speaking with your health care provider first.
DURING
After consulting with our board-certified clinician, you will have your face cleansed with a special solution, followed by application of a numbing agent. A small amount of your blood is then drawn to be centrifuged to make PRP. Microneedling with PRP treatments typically take about an hour to complete.
AFTER
Microneedling post-care involves applying a soothing serum to reduce discomfort. Your skin will look sunburned for 24 to 48 hours but redness will quickly diminish. To help your skin heal, avoid physical activity vigorous enough to make you perspire. If you wish, you can apply light foundation to conceal redness.
